Driver
- Must be aged 21 or over (Click here if not)
- Must have held a Full UK/EU Licence for at least 12 months
- Must have earned at least 1 years UK private car No Claims Bonus in their own name (More may required for certain vehicles and/or postcodes)
- Declared No claims Bonus must be available to be used under our policy
- If you have been declined insurance by us before or had a policy with us cancelled before, please refer to us before inputting a quotation
Vehicle
- Must be a Hot Hatch, Modified Car or Performance Car
- Vehicle must have never been declared a total loss/write off
- Vehicle must not be Q-Plated
As a performance car specialist our schemes are aimed at the performance car driver and thus we do not offer terms for standard (Non Performance) model vehicles (ie. L,GL,LX).
Excluded vehicles
- BMW E36 models - (E30/E46 derivatives are still acceptable)
- Citroen Saxo models
- Ford Sierra RS500 model
- Honda S2000, Integra DC2 & DC5 imports (UK DC2's are acceptable)
- Lotus Elise/Exige
- Nissan 200SX/Silvia models (All)
- Porsche (except Boxster)
- Renault Clio 172 “Cup” (non-ABS) model - (All other 172 derivatives are acceptable)
- Skoda Fabia/Octavia models
- TVR (all models)
- Vauxhall VX220 Turbo
- LHD vehicles (except Golf Rallye and Lancia Delta)
- Vehicles not listed by The Association Of British Insurers (ABI)
The above have been excluded based upon our historic claims performance with the specific models listed above - Most other Performance model vehicles are currently acceptable. We reserve the right not to offer a quotation. We are unable to offer quotations to existing customers by this method. Greenlight Insurance
Whilst most of the mainstream Insurance providers target standard everyday risks and shy away from modified vehicle drivers, our ethos has always been different. We prefer modified or specialist vehicles to standard vehicles and solely seek to provide cover to cherished vehicle owners who’s car is their pride and joy. Our rates are very much geared to this area and we prefer to cover vehicle enthusiasts as opposed to company or commercially used cars or other high mileage workhorse vehicles.
By their very nature, people that have taken the time to carefully plan, then invest in the enhancement or improvement of their vehicle by modifying the original vehicle with the addition of sports options or aftermarket parts are vehicle enthusiasts. We are an Insurance provider that understands modified vehicle owners take pride in their vehicle and recognise that their vehicles are usually maintained to the highest standards.
The Modified vehicle enthusiast often invests considerable time and money into their vehicle, which in itself demonstrates they care about their vehicle. They are a true specialist market and fall squarely within the domain of the vehicle enthusiast, which is exactly where we seek and have continued to provide Insurance cover.
Our panel of Underwriters consists of leading Insurers within the market place, most of which are specialist vehicle Insurers who are also sympathetic to and have experience within this area of the market.
This allows the respective Underwriters to work with us in providing specific benefits and tailor their policies to incorporate features within their respective products that are both relevant and of specific use to the Modified car owner.
